Holiday reflections

MY wish for you is that you will have a happy Monday.

The holidays are here and it is fascinating the number of religions that commemorate significant events during the month of December. Western countries cannot escape Christmas and the joy and happiness that comes along with it.
I once heard a comment that Jesus Christ and Charles Dickens gave us Christmas. Some may find it strange that Charles Dickens should be mentioned but his book A Christmas carol seems to have inspired the giving of gifts at Christmas. It remain fascinating in the present however that Christmas is more about toys for the children, Rudolph the red nosed reindeer and Santa Claus. It is becoming more and more unpopular and politically incorrect to mention Jesus Christ. There are attempts being made to even ban the mention of Christmas.
What if the story of Jesus Christ is true? What if our pride and ignorance is making us stupid and blinding our own eyes to truth.
We are living in a time when historians will have much difficulty in recording the truth. More and more we are being fed lies as our governments are being deceived and the government in turn feed the lies that it is fed to it people. Our governments are powerful and sovereign and at most history will record them as deceivers and the truth may never be known because valuable information are destroyed to avoid the truth ever becoming known.
Christmas however is about Jesus Christ coming into this earth and living as a man. The interesting thing is that Jesus Christ is believed to have accomplished what he set out to do in approximately three and a half years. The work was carried on by those he trained and his message continues until today.
The impact and influence of the church and Christians on western societies cannot be ignored neither can history be rewritten. Western societies have the genes of the church and Christianity so it may be a good time to reflect of the reality of Christmas.
Have a happy holidays and a merry Christmas.
