How far will you go?

My wish for you as always is that you will have a happy Monday.

"The man is so brilliant that it is a pity that all that knowledge shall die with him."  This statement was said of a gentleman that I knew some years ago. It keeps coming back to my mind because ever so often I am forced to listen to discussions where the main concern is "Will anyone remember me after I die."
I was amused this past week as I listened to the news cast and a businessman was mentioned with pride how disciplined and hardworking he was waking at 4:00 am and working for the entire day. I readily admit that I admire the persons that can plan every minute of their day and not deviate from the plan. Years of experience have taught me personally to have a plan but to allow for flexibility because my life is subjected to factors over which I have no control. Moreover one of my greatest joys is to be of help to my fellowman and often I put me on hold to accommodate my fellowman.
It is not a really smart thing to set out to accomplish immortality or something that will leave a lasting impact on history. Immortality is achieved by those who rise above the accepted standards of human behavior and this is possible for anyone to achieve.
Everyone has a hope, a dream, an aspiration and no one will pursue this for us but we can do it for ourselves and pursue it beyond what is perceived as the accepted human standard. It is not enough to be like other men because it is possible to rise and stand tall above other men.
In the end throughout life you will have gained a lot of knowledge but what will become of it? Will it die with you?
