The power of the mind

Some years ago I was doing some gardening for a gentleman and I observed that something was definitely wrong with the few fruit trees he had planted in his back yard. I took a shovel and poked near the root of one of the tree and sure enough I hit metal.
The trees had originally been planted in an aluminum containers and what someone had done was dig a hole in the ground and planted the fruit trees in the ground without removing them from the metal containers. Their growth was retarded and as a farmer it was easy for me to see. I patiently dug up back the container, gently removed the plant and planted in the soil and threw the aluminum container into the garbage.

The greatest asset bestowed on you and I is our minds but we have been taught to play safe and not explore the unimagined potential of our minds. We are like the fruit trees planted in metal containers. There is the fertile soil but our ability to grow and bear has been retarded.
Today is the day to begin a change. Set for yourself some seemingly impossible goal to attain this week. If that is achieved easily then you did not set a hard enough goal. (Yesterday afternoon I set myself something I needed to learn this week. I had hoped to master it by the end of the week but two hours later it was done). If you fear setting a difficult goal then begin with something small. It is the individual grains of sand that make up the great big pile.
Our great big problem is the fear of trying and for some people the fear of succeeding.
This week there are two realities that are before you and I and each of us must choose which one we will embrace. The first is what is reality and perceived to be and it is a lie. The second is what can be and it has endless possibilities.
